In this video from Castle Arts we show you how to understand the values of light. We draw, shade and blend three orbs using all four pastel pencils, sepia, red brown, gray and black, the paper blenders and kneadable eraser.
Each orb is lit from a different direction, from the top, the side and three quarter lit.
You can also download an A4 PDF tutorial which guides you through the techniques used to draw, shade and blend the orbs. The PDF also includes a pencil sketch outline of the orb so you can print out and practice as many times as you like.
